News Corp. (NWS, NWSA) has named David Kline as its chief technology officer.

Kline's coming from the same post at Viacom (VIA, VIAB), which he's held since 2010.

He'll take the job at News Corp. in January, succeeding Marc Frons, who had been in the role since 2016.

Kline had previously served as CIO at Discovery Communications as well.
